JULY 2010 CATCH REPORT

Here's the catch report for July, again, not a complete report.

Before you read the report: There's only a few weeks left for the taking in 2010, so either get in NOW for this year as bookings are coming in fast for 2011 already. It's never too early to reserve your place!.

Top fish this month: Another common weighing in at 49lbs

Due to the huge variation in this years weather conditions, all lakes have been fishing slowly, thus none of the really big'ins have shown up.

January 2010 NETTING:
Lake Angel, the 19 Acre Lake at Freedom Lakes was partially drained and netted at the end of the January. This was to remove the smaller Carp that have bred there from the very successful spawning of 2008.
With 20 people in the water and more on site, in just one sweep of the lake, 6.1 ton of Carp was obtained! All of the Carp under 10lbs were transferred into one of the nursery lakes.

As well as Carp, transferred to the 9 Acre Lake 'Sacha' were 6 Cats weighing in between 60lb and 80lb a piece, and a further 48 kittens.

Every Carp weighing between 30lb and 40lb plus, were photographed before being returned to the water. There were some exceptional smaller Carp. Those between 17lbs up to 30lbs, such as Ghosties, Koi Carp, Linears etc, were also photogrpahed and returned to the Lake.

The total numbers were:

16 at 40lb plus
107 at 30lbs or more.
Averaging 33. 67lbs

It was really hard work in freezing winter conditions for everyone involved. Mark wishes to extend his appreciation and thanks to everyone who turned up, without whose help the job would of been exceptionally difficult and taken days to of acheived.

NOVEMBER 11th
The fish are very active and getting plenty of pellet. Last week a Dutch lad, Robin, had a nice session on the big lake, he caught 13 fish including a few close to 40 and 1x42 but the best bit was he caught half of them by float fishing in the margins!!! good angling I say.
We stocked a few more fish into the big lake the other day, nothing special but nice fish all the same, if we find anything exceptional I'll let you know.

NOVEMBER

I've been drifting about in a boat all afternoon feeding loads of spots. The peaceful atmosphere was lovely, I saw loads of big fish crashing about, they know already the pressure is off. Then I watched the trees turn to every shade of red imaginable thanks to a awesome sun set. Fantastic! I should have taken a camera with me

SEPTEMBER
Freedom Lakes around 35x20's 70x30's 11x40's 1x50 out this week and 4 cats 48lb,88lb,95lb,105lb
All the lakes are full and the fishing is great, long may it continue :))
Amazing 24hrs Bob, I had a 37 and 37.12 and between 3 others they had 7 mirrors between 33 and 36lb 1 40.08lb mirror and 1 of the uncaught commons at 38.12lb on the 19acre plus 37, 39, 40, 49, 50, 50.08lb on the 29acre. All in the last 24hrs plus a cat at 105lb and about a dozen high 20's/ low 30's! the average over the last 24hrs is about 36lb. Bed now!
